My Beloved
a poetic response to "The Sound of Hollyhocks" by Hugh Garner
My
beloved
When I
brought you home
My
unbearable mother and you provoked a horrible argument
That
night was a disaster
My
beloved
When our
house were cheerless and empty
I waited
for you until the sun rose again but you never came back
That
night was a disaster
My
beloved
When you
were gone in an accident with another man in the night
You have
destroyed my only confidence and faith
That night was a disaster
My
beloved
When I
heard the sweet little voice of the hollyhocks
I felt
like I was talking to you again
That night was not a disaster anymore
The
voice was by my side since then
Just
like how you were always rest on my shoulders
Now I am
gone and never coming back to this hopeless world
